WHO WE ARE
Random Acts of Silliness is an arts organization inspiring laughter and play in the Gallatin Valley. We build community by sparking whimsy and creativity in the young–and young at heart–through original and engaging art installations, theater productions and random acts of silliness.

Meet the Artist
Marla Goodman
Did you hear the singing giantess at the Cabinets of Curiosity? Have you delighted in a fairy cobbler shop or opera house at the fairy village? Did you spot the Major Monster leading the Silly Monster Marching band in the Sweet Pea Parade? More recently, you might have spied a silly snow monster or two around town. These and much more are the creations of Bozeman artist Marla Goodman. A true renaissance (and randomssence?) woman, Marla’s diverse talents include illustration, fabrication, music making, storytelling and–most of all–a keen sense of whimsy. This makes her a dreamy fit for our quirky brand of art and she has participated in many a random and silly experience with us.
Marla grew up near Bozeman in a farmhouse filled with interesting collections and treasures. Now, besides making fantastical art with RAS and doting on her grandchildren, she writes and illustrates the Brownpaper Mouse Alphabet Storybooks, teaches ukulele and art workshops, organizes community art shows, and studies a most magical instrument called the Theremin. David DiGiacomo, Marla’s husband and sidekick, is an engineer whose skills often help bring her wacky ideas (see singing giantess above) to life.
From sprinkling pixie dust to painting gnomes, our amazing volunteers help make the magic happen. Email hello@randomactsofsilliness.com for the latest volunteer opportunities.
