Lander Cooney

Board Treasurer of Terrific Tomfoolery

Lander is our treasured board treasurer. She grew up in Kansas City where she played in symphonic and chamber orchestras, jazz bands, big bands and many more melodic medleys. She loves a good adventure, and the opportunity to live and learn abroad shaped who she is and what’s important to her. She has a BA in Biology with a minor in music from The Colorado College and a MS in Science Education from MSU.

Although we hope and dream that she will someday lead our puppet kazoo band, these days her work is more serious than silly. Lander has been working for and leading nonprofits her entire career. She has served as the CEO of Community Health Partners, a nonprofit healthcare provider ensuring access to medical, dental and behavioral healthcare for everyone in Park and Gallatin Counties, regardless of ability to pay, since 2010.

Lander lives with her fabulous husband, two lovely littles and a hermit crab named Cinnamon. They are their best selves when floating down a river together. She crowd-sourced the question of preferred magical powers to her family. It started out pretty practical: Could you make farts smell good? Maybe you need extra hands so you could make TWO school lunches at once! But in the end they settled on the ability to fly because it just sounds so fun. However, she’d definitely need a very warm flight suit because she’s always cold.

The pandemic has given us the gift of understanding the importance of seeking, finding, creating, and sharing joy and wonder in everyday life. RAS gives us the opportunity to share those gifts with everyone.
