Sarah Henderson

Creator of Captivating Capers

Sarah helps bring our theater dreams to life. She wears many hats as director, actor, planner, producer, and a very good listener. She lives and breathes ‘Yes, and...’ and helps us all to stay grounded.

She has loved acting and making plays and theater since she was first cast as Mrs. Claus in the third grade Christmas Play at Berkeley Glenn Elementary. As a kid she watched a lot of TV and adored the Wonder Years and Family Ties and My So-Called Life. Just like some of her favorite TV characters, she got to be Emily in Our Town at her high school! She studied drama at Syracuse University, then spent the next 22 years in New York City and Los Angeles.

Sarah now lives in Bozeman where she shares a home with her husband, fellow actor and musician Cody, two wonderful kids, Alice & Evy, her Dad “Granddad,”and many, many stuffed animals. She and Cody also founded and run Wildarts, a music and theater organization for young kids and families. If Sarah had a magical power it would be teleportation. No plane tickets, no waiting in line, just a snap of the fingers and you're there!

RAS is so full of heart. From the first Fairy Village to our Enchanted Expedition play this summer, the intention is always to bring joy to our community. I've had the unique pleasure of experiencing the work of RAS from the outside and the inside, as a parent leading my children through Flutterby and Bumblewood, visiting the Menagerie of the Imaginary, and as a co-creator of The Enchanted Expedition. It is pure magic to be a part of spreading awe and wonder with no other agenda. It's just supposed to be a beautiful escape and I love that.
