Wizard Behind the Curtain

(Operations Manager) – she/her

Meet the Wizard Behind the Curtain, Zoe! She tackles anything and everything needed to make magic happen, including event logistics, gently guiding project management, bringing in and supporting our amazing volunteers, and answering the fairy phone.

Zoe grew up in Iowa, sewing clothes for herself and her dolls, reading in her treehouse, and being outside as much as possible. She also spent a lot of time out west where she immediately fell in love with aspen, sage, and lupine. Zoe’s home is full of plants, sunshine, instruments, and an overflowing pottery shelf. Actually, the hobbies are overflowing in general! She loves knitting, playing music, singing, trail running, nature wandering, and being around water. She built a fairy house with one of her best friends a few years ago, and delighted in gluing a checkerboard of flowers onto a tiny kitchen floor and making tiny fairy sweaters!

In her professional world, she’s had the luck to study bees and flowers across Montana and Yosemite (basically fairy training), teach science, and work in outdoor education and trip leading. In all these threads, she always strives to connect people to the environment, community, and creativity. 

Zoe’s superpower would be teleportation. She’d love to see her far flung friends and be able to change habitats readily. Imagine being able to pick flowers, ski, or swim any day you please!
