A LATE WINTER CELEBRATION OF LIGHT, COLOR, AND COMMUNITY

The Annual Menagerie of the Imaginary Lantern Parade will illuminate the darkness with luminous lanterns of imaginary creatures created and carried by Gallatin Valley artists and community members, accompanied by vibrant performers and compelling musicians. The parade will take place on Saturday, February 21st, 2026.

LARGE PUPPET LANTERN CREATION


A team of talented local artists has gathered and are working together to create a new large lantern puppet for the parade!

JANUARY - MID FEBRUARY:

COMMUNITY LANTERN BUILDING WORKSHOPS


A series of drop-in community workshops will teach attendees to make everything from jellyfish to mushrooms to decorated globe lanterns. Appropriate ages will range from 5 years to adult. Dates will be 1/10 &11, 1/24 & 25, 1/21 & 2/1, and 2/7 & 2/8.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 20TH:

PUPPET PETTING ZOO

& MINI PARADE


This new event will allow attendees meet the large lantern puppets up close, and for little ones to have their own parade in a more easily accessible environment. While all are welcome, this will be a great option for kids under 12 and anyone who finds the terrain at Gallatin Regional Park challenging.

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 21ST:
