moss manor

Brilliant bryologist and lichenologist Peata Hornwort lives in this delightfully gnarled manor house, home to the Hornwort family for many generations. Despite her serious studies, Peata is a playful pixie and she loves her slide and swing. She likes nothing more than to wake up and slide right out of bed to the outside so she can get back to observing and documenting the natural world around her. Although she researches moss and lichen at Bumblewood University, her curiosity knows no bounds. You can see her collections throughout her home.

Kathleen lives in Bozeman with her two kiddos, partner Ken, and Australian Terrier Charlie Brown. When not making fairy houses, Kathleen can be found hanging out with her family, making art, gardening, reading, exploring nature, or working at the Bozeman Public Library in the Youth Services Department. Kathleen loves the whimsy of fairy houses and has been making them for years with her kids. She loves making houses on trails while hiking, and then coming back later to see if they are still intact and if the fairies have left any clues behind. She created the library in last year’s village. You can find Kathleen on instagram.
