This is Kate’s third year participating in Crankie Fest. Kate works in batik, a complex process using wax and dye on fabric to create striking contrast and vivid colors. Her scroll is made with cotton cloth, wax, dye and tyvek. The inspiration for this crankie came to her when taking a Master Naturalist class last spring, sparking memories of hunting for wildflowers with her own grandmother.
